Group 1:
PICTURESQUE
We made to chose Borj Meneses as our group’s prominent person not just because of the name he had contributed in the media industry- a professional photographer, but also as a Mass Communication student providing us with some of his photography with art and style definitely contributed knowledge to our field.
To summarize Borj Meneses: “Passion + Hard work = SUCCESS.
YOUR THOUGHTS BECOME YOUR ACTION
Patricia Mamangun, an ordinary journalist shared her experiences in the media industry. At first, she is hesitant on the things that she needs to comply in her job. But because she is dedicated, she made a point that her thoughts will become her action.
As for Ms. Mamangun, love your work even if you lack sleep and even if your earnings are not equivalent to it and you will be satisfied.
Group 2:
INDEED, GOOD ORAL HYGIENE PREVENTS DISEASE
“They say that give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day”.
Tooth decay, cavity, gingivitis and such the like, will it still bring sunshine for the rest of your day? But Ms. Vianca Jane de Jesus- Catangal, dentist. Prominent speaker of the day can at least help us on how to achieve good oral hygiene. By the lectures he had prepared, we learned that brushing is not enough to achieve good oral hygiene; visiting the dentist every 6 mos., flossing, etc. surely we can achieve it. Having the right hygiene Ms. Catangal taught can help us boost our confidence.
And farther more, practicing good oral hygiene also helps us on the preservation of health and prevention of disease.
REGRET NO MORE
Rafael Tuazon, 22 years of age, a street sweeper, was married when he was 16 and now a single parent with one child.
While he was sharing his experiences, someone asked him that if he was given a chance to finish schooling what course he would take, and he answered that he wanted to become an Accountancy student. Though he did not make his way to college because of financial problems and he was involved on a lot of “kalokohan” (foolishness), he is striving so hard for his inspiration- his child and family. He ended his exposition with “mag- aral ng mabuti” (study hard) to be successful.
Group 3:
INSTANT AURA
DJ Tyra as she prefers to be called, who obviously work as a disc jockey on a radio station. She knows exactly how to get people’s attention, she is very bubbly and attitude is important to her, if you have good attitude your aura will instantly be felt positively.
20 YEARS AND FURTHER
No one can work without inspiration. Remedios Angeles, a janitress for 20 years in AUF. Who only finished grade 4, but with her patience and hard work she was enable to produce good results. Her child and family serve as her influence to strive more and more. No tiresome even for 20 and counting years of patience and hardwork.
Group 4:
DREAM FOR ONE’S SELF AND THANK GOD FOR YOURSELF
Dr. Fred Bauldin, in-charge in the naval hospital at Guam. A sensible person, his words encourages us to dream big, but dreaming will not stop there, we have to make our dreams happen. He inspires every one to be humble, forgiving and God fearing. Though many times we commit things not acceptable in God’s eyes we should not forget to pray and ask for forgiveness and we too as human beings should know to forgive others.
SETTING THE PARAMETERS
Arnel Berato, who is a law student at AUF gave us his analysis about life and the most important thing he wants us to practice in dealing life is to set our parameters. If we set our parameters and consequently, we are not happy with the results then we don’t need to blame others for it, but ourselves. We should earnestly try again so that we can accomplish our sets of parameters, or we have to change the direction of our focus and come up again in setting the parameters to achieve the best outcome we want in life.
Group 5:
NOT AT ALL…
A teacher, a dancer and a choreographer all at once is Charity Monette. She spoke to the class about success, which she said that double-minded person never succeed. That is her point of view in life and we can’t change it.
But for me being double-minded individual is normal, because all of us once experience it and even in simple things. Some people have a lot of what if’s in life-if we do this or we do that but remained successful.
SMILING FACE
Brian Osayan, a janitor in AUF. With the familiar face stood in front of us shared his experiences-good or bad and still open for any questions from the class with continuous answers. He is not shy for what he had been through and to what he is now. A transparent person as I can say.
He was married at a young age and now separated, but I can’t tell that he was emotionally disturbed about his past, maybe because of the smiling face he gives everyone in the campus.
He was also had the chance to enter college but because of influences of some friends, he went astray that is why he did not finish his schooling.
